CNOOC building views

CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Company) has their headquarters in Beijing, just inside the Second Ring Road at Chaoyangmen.

The building was designed by American architectural firm KPF (Kohn Pederson Fox Architects), the firm behind the design of the Shanghai World Financial Center in Shanghai, the Rodin Museum in Seoul, and also the Architect-of-Record for the latest expansion of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.

Always been one of my favorite buildings in BJ...at this point likely common knowledge and as earlier noted on Danwei link , the building was designed with an oil tanker's bow in mind...

KPF has certainly been fond of curvy green glass. After 25 years, 333 Wacker Drive in Chicago is still one of their most effective expressions using the material.

This building is also famous for looking like a Kohler tankless toilet. I remember Kohler even went so far as to put a billboard for the toilet across the street to reinforce the connection. For the record, I like both the building and the toilet.
