This is a clip from Sam Voutas' documentary The Last Breadbox that shows the city-wide celebrations that erupted on July 13th, 2001 after Beijing was announced as the host city for the 2008 Olympics.

Ah. Tears rolling down my face. On that day I was somewhere in New England. Bought New York Times from the grocery store, with the big red Chinese flag on the front page.
