This ad, which ran in the Beijing Youth Daily this morning, is for Energetic City Life (), a residential development inside the southwest Fifth Ring Road on the expressway to Shijiazhuang. The development extends the prospect of "North America Joyful Life" straight from the charming city of Philadelphia (), with which it shares a name. |

ah, philadelphia. what city could be more charming?
the history. the culture. the open air drug markets. and, by extension, the crime, violence, and death.

what property developer *wouldn't* want to recreate this quaint american idyll on the outskirts of their nation's capital?
After a 2 week self-imposed suspension I am back to comment on this most ridiculous of items...
My sentiments are in line with "b's" above.
Everyone outside of PA (Pennsylvania) refers to anywhere between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as "Pennsyltucky" basically because there is nothing but cows and piles of manure and a place I am proud to have been born of...
We in Pennsyltucky refer to Philly as "Filthydelphia" and "Philasmelphia"...
Our animals in Pennsyltucky may be may be producing more animal poop annually than any other place on the globe but Philly is a poop-hole.
