Hutongs in heat with new vending machines

The Beijing government is now working hard to ensure every Hutong will have its own condom vending machine. Similar machines can be found in discreet locations around universities, hotels, and entertainment venues. In Hutongs, however, they are located just outside the communal toilets, exposing buyers to all and sundry.

The battle of the brands is heating up, and long time favourite “Strong Man” is being challenged by new “Fire” condoms. The winners are local community members, who can now enjoy safe sex for as little as 1RMB (12 cents).

With one problem covered, Hutong residents can channel their energies to saving their homes from the local urban development blitz.
